PLC Spring Workshop Series

In this reflective session, educators will explore how their own emotional regulation and stress responses directly impact classroom tone, behavior management, and child outcomes. We’ll dive into realistic strategies for staying calm, grounded, and intentional, even in the midst of chaos.

PreK–Grade 1 educators will walk away with simple self-regulation tools, reflective routines, and a better understanding of how to care for themselves while caring for others.

Session: Supporting Educators: Preventing Burnout and Strengthening Classroom Communities

This session focused on understanding burnout as a pattern rather than a single difficult day, and explored how it impacts educator wellbeing and classroom dynamics. From arrival routines and visual schedules to transition planning and teacher prep habits, we focused on the tools that support smoother days—for teachers and children alike. Participants left with ready-to-implement strategies that reduce overwhelm, improve time management, and build strong classroom habits that last all year long.

Cozy corners and calm classrooms; Routines that work. We explored the connection between predictable routines and children’s ability to regulate emotions and behaviors. Educators learned how to create cozy, intentional classroom spaces like calm-down corners and transition zones that foster independence, reduce chaos, and help children feel safe and supported throughout the day.

From lighting and layout to routines and sensory supports, we examined how thoughtful environmental choices can transform the classroom into a haven for both children and teachers.
