PLC Spring Workshop Series

📍Virtual | April 27, 2026 Professional Identity & Sustainability: Supporting Educators for Long-Term Impact

PLC Spring Series workshop. This interactive professional development session explored the connection between professional identity and long-term sustainability in ECE. Participants engaged in reflective discussions and real-world scenarios to better understand how workplace conditions, daily interactions, and personal experiences shape how educators see themselves in their roles.

Throughout the session, educators examined the difference between professionalism and professional identity, and how disconnection can develop over time when support systems, communication, and workplace dynamics are misaligned. The session emphasized the importance of awareness, intentional reflection, and small, actionable shifts that support both personal wellbeing and professional growth.

Participants also explored sustainable practices that can be implemented immediately, including setting boundaries, engaging in micro-resets, and strengthening communication and support within their teams.

By the end of this session, participants were able to:

  • Define professional identity and distinguish it from professionalism 
  • Identify how workplace conditions, team dynamics, and support systems influence professional identity 
  • Recognize signs of disconnection and reflect on how it impacts their role and wellbeing 
  • Apply the Recognize: Reflect: Reclaim framework to reconnect with their professional identity 
  • Implement small, sustainable practices to support long-term engagement and effectiveness in their role 
  • Identify one actionable step to apply in their classroom or professional setting 

This session supported educators in reconnecting with their purpose, strengthening their sense of identity, and building sustainable practices that promote long-term success in the field.

📍Virtual | April 20, 2026 Culture in the Primary Childhood Classroom: Art as Regulation, Expression, & Sustainability

This session explored how art can be used as a powerful tool to support emotional regulation, self-expression, and a sense of belonging in early childhood classrooms. Participants examined how creative experiences contribute to classroom culture, moving beyond product-focused activities to intentional, process-driven practices.

Through interactive discussion and hands-on reflection, educators considered how art can serve as both a regulatory support and a meaningful form of communication for young children. The session also highlighted how incorporating simple, creative opportunities can support not only student wellbeing, but educator sustainability as well.

Participants left with practical, realistic strategies to integrate art as a tool for regulation and connection—without adding complexity to their day.

By the end of this session, participants were able to:

• Explain the role of art in supporting emotional regulation in early childhood settings
• Identify how creative experiences contribute to classroom culture and student wellbeing
• Differentiate between process-focused and product-focused art practices
• Explore ways to use art as a tool for expression and communication
• Apply simple, intentional strategies to incorporate art-based regulation into daily routines
• Reflect on how creative practices can support both student and educator sustainability

📍Virtual | April 13, 2026 Culture in the Primary Childhood Classroom: Clarity, Consistency, & Communication 

This This PLC Spring Series workshop explored how classroom culture is shaped through everyday interactions, expectations, and educator responses. Participants examined how clarity, consistency, and communication influence not only behavior, but also children’s sense of safety, belonging, and engagement.

Through reflection, discussion, and practical examples, educators gained strategies to create more predictable, supportive, and responsive classroom environments. This session emphasized small, intentional shifts that lead to meaningful change in both teaching practice and student experience.

By the end of this session, participants were able to:

• Define classroom culture in early childhood settings • Identify the role of clarity, consistency, and communication • Apply strategies to create clear expectations • Reflect on consistency in their own practice • Use intentional language and tone to support a positive classroom environment

This session concludes with a reflective commitment using Bryanne’s signature “I WILL” method, empowering educators to identify one meaningful shift they will implement in their classroom practice.

Early Childhood Transitions Conference

Building Belonging Through Sensory Play, Movement, and Creative Activities

This hands-on workshop explores how sensory-rich art experiences can foster a deep sense of belonging in early childhood classrooms. When children feel regulated, seen, and free to express themselves, they are more likely to engage with peers, participate fully in learning, and build meaningful classroom connections.

Participants will explore sensory-based art activities that support self-regulation, collaboration, and inclusion while honoring diverse sensory needs. Educators will leave with practical strategies, and a make-and-take sensory art activity, that can be brought directly back to the classroom, reinforcing the connection between sensory experiences, emotional safety, and community building.

Creativity & Regulation: Tools for Wellbeing

In this reflective session, educators will explore how their own emotional regulation and stress responses directly impact classroom tone, behavior management, and child outcomes. We’ll dive into realistic strategies for staying calm, grounded, and intentional, even in the midst of chaos.

PreK–Grade 1 educators will walk away with simple self-regulation tools, reflective routines, and a better understanding of how to care for themselves while caring for others.

By the end of this session, participants were able to:

  • Understand the connection between creativity and regulation
  • Experience simple strategies you can use immediately
  • Explore ways to support both child AND educator wellbeing

Session: Supporting Educators: Preventing Burnout and Strengthening Classroom Communities

This session focused on understanding burnout as a pattern rather than a single difficult day, and explored how it impacts educator wellbeing and classroom dynamics. Participants engaged in reflective discussions and practical strategies to support self-regulation, strengthen classroom communities, and create sustainable practices that promote both teacher and student success.

These ideas were further extended through interactive workshop sessions, allowing participants to engage in deeper reflection and apply strategies within their own classroom contexts.

Participants left with actionable tools to strengthen classroom communities, support educator wellbeing, and promote more sustainable, connected learning environments.

Session: Supporting and Preventing Teacher Burnout: The Administrator’s Role in Classroom Management
A discussion of the vital role administrators play in preventing teacher burnout through proactive classroom management. This session will explore how leadership practices like clear structures, reflective supervision, and strategic support, can transform teaching environments and boost student outcomes. Through real-world case examples and practical tools, attendees will walk away with frameworks they can implement immediately to promote teacher well‑being and cultivate a truly sustainable culture of learning and leadership.

Before the Day Begins: Systems for a Smooth School Year. In this practical and reflective session, educators explored how setting up clear systems before the day begins can make or break a classroom’s success. From arrival routines and visual schedules to transition planning and teacher prep habits, we focused on the tools that support smoother days—for teachers and children alike. Participants left with ready-to-implement strategies that reduce overwhelm, improve time management, and build strong classroom habits that last all year long.

Cozy corners and calm classrooms; Routines that work. We explored the connection between predictable routines and children’s ability to regulate emotions and behaviors. Educators learned how to create cozy, intentional classroom spaces like calm-down corners and transition zones that foster independence, reduce chaos, and help children feel safe and supported throughout the day.
